Historic Racing Plus 4
The painstaking rebuild of this beautiful 1956 historic Plus 4 is now complete and Rob has space in his well equipped workshop for another project.
Rob’s own Plus 8 MOG800 has been a test bed for his design innovations over the years including the many Librands products on the market today.
Rob started the project at Libra Motive in 2003 and finished it in 2009 at Lewis Racing.
Rob plans to take part in the Tour des Cols in MOG800 next year with his son Peter.
It is an impressive specification, fitted with a 4.2 litre rover V8 engine and SD1 gearbox, disc brakes all round with dual master cylinders, air conditioning with bespoke dashboard including integrated radio/CD player and air-con controls.
It has a 1/4 -inch stressed aluminium floor, riveted and bonded to the steel Morgan chassis. The front of the chassis from the bulkhead forward has additional tubes to make it stiffer.
The original suspension has been replaced with wishbone front suspension and, at the rear, forward facing radius rods, panhard rod and coil-over dampers.
